The unit of bread ( BEU) is a conditional measure to simplify the calculation of consumed carbohydrates. But you already know this.

💪 But do you know how to correctly count the amount of BEU? First, we suggest practicing.

Task: How much  BEU is in 115 grams of white bread, 30 grams of dried almonds and 230 grams of marbled beef steak.

And if you are having difficulty with calculations, here are some tips on how to correctly calculate the amount of BEU in products.

⚖️ 1  BEU is 10 grams of net carbohydrates or 12 grams of carbohydrates including dietary fiber.

⚖️ It is important to immediately determine how many carbohydrates you are taking for 1  BEU and always adhere to this approach.

⚖️ Manufacturers of diabetic and dietetic products indicate bread units based on 12 grams of carbohydrates in 1  BEU.

⚖️ In order to calculate the amount of  BEU in products that are supplied without packaging with this information, you can use the Internet and scales - first you weigh the product, then type in the search for "the amount of carbohydrates in the product X", or in reverse order. The amount of carbohydrates will need to be divided by 10 or 12, and then multiplied by the weight of the product.
